Lower Austria increases its apprenticeship advisers.

(St. Pölten; english/german) The apprenticeship advisers, who have been on assignment in Lower Austria since 2004, have become a success story. President Sonja Zwazl of the Austrian Economic Chambers and deputy governor Johanna Mikl-Leitner have announced that in the following year the team will increase.
Ms Mikl-Leitner explains that the apprenticeship advisers have a bridging effect between companies and young people. The country supports the project with 100,000 Euro, 120,000 Euro from the Economic Chamber and 200,000 Euro from the state.
In the past seven years the apprenticeship advisers have harnessed 95,000 contacts among companies, that makes 2,300 contacts per apprenticeship adviser per year. Around half of their activities are traditional apprenticeship advice techniques, such as support during placement or advice claims. Each adviser is responsible for about three to four districts, which include companies of all branches and sizes.

Mediation
Apprentice advisers are frequently called upon for mediation skills. The amount of mediation advice has risen noticeably in the past few years. Not because of an increase in disagreements, but because it has been spread by word-of-mouth that this works. An average of twelve discussions are needed per person. In around half the cases, a disagreement between an apprentice and a company can be resolved adequately.
As the most common reason for dissolving an apprenticeship is that the choice of apprenticeship does not match the person's talents and interests, they are encouraged to accept an offer of career advice. Niederösterreich stockt die Lehrstellenberater auf.

Die Lehrstellenberater, seit 2004 in Niederösterreich im Einsatz, haben sich zu einer Erfolgsgeschichte entwickelt. Im kommenden Jahr wird das Team aufgestockt, kündigten Wirtschaftskammer-Präsidentin Sonja Zwazl und Landeshauptmann-Stellvertreterin Johanna Mikl-Leitner an.
„Die Lehrstellenberatern haben eine Brückenfunktion zwischen den Unternehmen und den Jugendlichen“, erklärt Mikl-Leitner. Das Land unterstützt das Projekt mit 100.000 Euro, rund 120.000 Euro kommen von der Wirtschaftskammer und 200.000 Euro vom Bund.
In den vergangenen sieben Jahren haben die Lehrstellenberater insgesamt rund 95.000 Kontakte mit Betrieben gepflegt, also 2.300 Kontakte pro Lehrstellenberater und Jahr. Rund die Hälfte der Aktivitäten entfällt auf die klassische Lehrstellenberatung, wie Unterstützung bei der Besetzung einer Lehrstelle oder Beratung über Förderungen. Jeder Berater ist derzeit für drei bis vier Bezirke zuständig, und zwar für Unternehmen aller Branchen und Betriebsgrößen.

Konfliktberater
Nicht selten sind die Lehrstellenberater auch als Konfliktberater im Einsatz. Die Zahl der Konfliktberatungen sei in den vergangenen Jahren deutlich gestiegen, nicht, weil die Konflikte mehr geworden sind, sondern weil sich herumspricht, dass gute Arbeit geleistet werde. Im Schnitt braucht man pro Fall zwölf Gespräche. In rund der Hälfte der Fälle kann ein Konflikt zwischen Lehrling und Unternehmen befriedigend gelöst werden.
Da sich als häufigster Grund für eine Auflösung des Lehrverhältnisses herausgestellt hat, dass die gewählte Lehre mit den persönlichen Talenten und Interessen nicht übereinstimmte, sollte das Angebot der Berufsorientierung genutzt werden.
