A Lower Austrian sole proprietor brokers all types of wood throughout Europe.

The trend to outsource more and more services is also felt in the wood processing industry and in the woodworking industry. The sole proprietor, Andreas Ackerman, wants to address this accordingly and acts as an intermediary between companies needing wood and those who produce it.

From raw wood to veneer quality
"In the past, there have been buyers and sellers in the respective companies. Now one resorts to the services of specialists who are well connected internationally in the wood industry," explains the entrepreneur from in Hof am Leithagebirge. You can obtain any type of wood from him from raw wood to veneer quality.
"In addition to personnel savings, the companies have also reduced their inventories. You often must schedule storage of about one and a half to two years until you can process raw wood, which means a long pass quotient with tied up capital," explains Ackerman.

Oriented towards export
With project-related procurement, one could, however, react faster to market developments and customer requests. His customers benefit from the fact that he knows the raw material wood very well as a trained forester and is well versed in its processing.
Hardwood accounts for the lion's share of brokered wood, making up 90% of the business. Austria alone provides 15% of customers, with the other 85% coming from all over Europe, largely Germany and Slovakia. For 2016, Ackerl is striving for 350,000 Euro in sales.
