The smartphone becomes a cash register

Entrepreneurs who nowadays want to accept payments on the spot face many challenges.

An expert comment by Roland Toch, Managing Director Wirecard CEE. First it applies to comply with the cash register obligation, which affects a large part of small and medium businesses. In parallel, the payment behaviour of the consumers changes, cash payments decrease, card payments become more popular.

Simple and safe
When purchasing a cash register, on should look to the future, when consumers will pay for example with smartwatch or NFC. Businesses can now meet these challenges with a modern mobile cash register. The handy card reader is controlled here via an app from a smartphone or a tablet. Payments can be received in a simple and secure manner. Payment is possible by card (credit and debit cards) as well as with cash. A secure transaction is ensured as well as simple and intuitive handling for buyers and sellers. All effected sales can be viewed via a clear user surface.

Business Innovations
The market for cash registers is currently competitive. Ideally, a complete provider is chosen, who offers everything from the app for the smartphone or tablet via the card reader up to the mobile printer. The purchase costs are also clear, mobile solutions are substantially more economic than classic cash registers and they are often entirely subsidised by the state.
Many innovative businesses from different industries already use mobile cash registers and appreciate simplicity and flexibility. These solutions serve stationary shops and particularly with mobile use, they are far superior to conventional cash registers. Taxi drivers, sales representatives, caterers or also mobile masseurs – for virtually all areas in trade and service, flexible solutions for secure and location-independent are of great advantage.
