A chance for domestic businesses

A chance for domestic businesses© Kapsch

Promising keywords such as disruption demand business transformation in all areas.

An expert comment by Jochen Borenich, CEO of Kapsch BusinessCom.
All stages of the value-added chain are aligned in a digital manner, new business models result and digital platforms demand creative cooperation models beyond company boundaries. In this context, the focus Internet of Things is also available in different forms of industry models such as e.g. Industry 4.0, Connected Car, Smart Health & -Energy or Smart Cities. Through further miniaturisation and smart sensors, about 50 thousand millions IoT devices will massively change all industries.

In IT security, defence and protection are thus no longer in the foreground, but prevention and control. Digital Business newly defines the outer limits of a business and thereby the targets for hackers. Secure and robust environments must prevail at the interfaces of individual systems, in order to prevent faults with autonomous business processes.

ICT Austria
This means running IT services for companies, which are provided securely and in a cost-efficient manner, and for this, important IT innovations in the sense of a bimodal IT must be integrated quickly and dynamically. It will thereby matter less and less to “keep the in-house IT running”. ICT is an element bringing efficiency and which supports businesses more and more of the entire value chain.
A coordinating body is becoming increasingly important and can also be taken over by external partners. ICT Austria for example, an initiative of Austrian IT companies, covers the entire ICT added value chain. It views itself as a "missing link" between IT solutions of global providers and their application to the Austrian customer in connection with innovative applications and industry-specific applications. Added value and jobs remain in Austria and important IT applications and data are stored securely in domestic data centres.
